Labor Day Message from Bernard Kilpatrick to recall workers:
"You're going to Hell!"
The shocking statement was a direct quote by the mayor's father to six brave recall workers who stood tall and proud on Woodward Ave this morning. The six were there to let fellow Detroiters--and the world--know that until the mayor resigns, the recall goes on. Mayoral supporters, sporting free tee-shirts provided with what we hope was NOT taxpayer money (but you can never tell with this administration) had jumped in to the parade and were walking down Detroit's iconic Woodward Ave when they spotted the six recallers. The recallers were wearing their "Recall The Mayor" shirts which made them easy to spot. The senior Mr. Kilpatrick stepped toward the recallers and uttered his comment. (What the elder Mr. Kilpatrick failed to realize he might have been prophesizing about his own final journey?)
We know you're dying to see what the mayor's freebie shirt looked like. Thanks to one supporter who was a good sport for us, here it is. We promised not to publish her identity
Front: Not the most flattering picture we have seen of the mayor, but when you're running out of money, you can't afford an attractive, multi-color picture. Hands are posed almost as if in prayer, possibly thinking: Oh Lord, how did I get myself into this mess??
Back: Gotta love the quote! Our take on it--a subliminal message to the city of Detroit: You (Detroit) shall know the truth (when the text messages and court case finally come out)...and the truth shall make you free (from the lies and shady dealings of the Kilpatrick family). The subliminal message is the only reason a Kwame Kilpatrick shirt would have the word "TRUTH" on it.
To the shirt designer: Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for the opportunity to have a great deal of fun with your poorly conceived shirt!!! (LOL!!). The mayor looks like a THUG in that picture. What were you thinking??
So, we waved and shouted bye-bye to Mr. Kilpatrick, relieved that Detroit will finally be free. As for his future location, we are hoping a Federal prison is preparing a wing for Bernard and company. Lord knows they've earned it.
